Instructions for Authors
General Information
Chinese Journal of Energetic Materials(CJEM) is a professional publication containing Full Papers, Short Communications, critical Reviews, as well as details of forthcoming meetings and book reviews concerned with theories and experiments for synthesis and formulation design of energetic materials, polymer compounds, and safe property. Being the official journal of the Institute of Chemical Materials, China Academy of Engineering Physics (CAEP), CJEM is a vital medium and the state-of-the-art forum for the exchange of science and technology in energetic materials, and publishes monthly.
All manuscripts to be published must undergo strict double-blind peer review.
Authors should reveal all sources of funding for the work presented in the manuscript and should declare any conflict of interest. IMPORTANT: Any manuscript already available on personal/group web pages will be considered by the Editors as already published and will not be accepted. The contents of manuscripts submitted to CJEM must not have been submitted to any other journal in parallel or published previously. Authors are solely responsible for the contents of their contribution. It is assumed that they have the necessary authority for publication.
Each contribution submitted to CJEM will be sent to independent referees. Authors are encouraged to suggest suitable referees (full names and affiliations).
All accepted manuscripts are edited before printing to ensure scientific consistency, clarity of presentation, and uniformity of style. The correspondence author will receive the page proofs via E-mail as a PDF file for check and confirm.
Online Submission of Manuscripts
CJEM offers web-based manuscript submission and peer-review. Online submission is mandatory– conventional submission of manuscripts via courier service or E-mail is no longer accepted.
• Go to www.energetic-materials.org.cn
• The system allows the upload of MSWord files for the reviewing process
• If you use the system for the first time, you need to "Create an Account" using the email address
• Once logged in, please click on "Submitting Center" and get through the submission process
• You can follow the progress of your manuscripts on the personal homepage. The homepage should also be used to upload the final revised versions of all manuscripts.
Types of Contributions
Reviews should give a critical overview of a particular field, providing the reader with an appreciation of the importance of the work, a summary of recent developments, a balanced discussion of problems and progress, and well selected literature coverage.
Full Papers report comprehensive details of completed studies, whether experimental or theoretical. All contributions will be judged on the criteria of originality, quality and novelty and will be peer-reviewed. The manuscript should be divided into sections in the following order: Abstract, Introduction, Experimental, Results & Discussion, Conclusions, References, and Acknowledgements.
Short Communications are unsolicited, short reports, in which preliminary results might be presented.
Author list includes byline all those who have made substantial contributions to the work. The correspondence author should be designated by an asterisk. The e-mail of corresponding author should be provided in the footnotes.
Abstract should briefly state the reason for the work, the significant results and conclusions.
Keywords around 3~10 should be provided to assist readers and index in cross-indexing this study.
References
Responsibility for the accuracy of references rests with the authors. Only published papers or papers in press should be referenced. References are to be numbered sequentially in the order in which they are cited in the text. The numbers should be enclosed in square brackets. References are to be collected in numerical order at the end of the manuscript under the heading References. Note that journal and book titles should be in italics, and the volume number of journals in italics.

Artwork
Every figure must be referred to in the text and numbered with Arabic numerals in the sequence in which they appear in the text. All figures will be printed in black and white. For colored artwork, authors are expected to make a contribution per figure/scheme (incl. taxes) towards the extra costs for color reproduction.
Figures (especially half-tone or gray-scale images) must be stored as TIF or JPG files. Files for figures must have a resolution of at least 300 dpi.
Tables
Tables must be referred to in the text and numbered with Arabic numerals in the sequence in which they occur. Every table must begin with a caption, which must explain the contents of the table in detail. Footnotes to a table should be indicated by lowercase letters in parentheses and be typed directly below the table. Tables should have the absolute minimum of horizontal and no vertical lines (two horizontal as header, one at the base).
Mathematical Equations
Equations should appear in the manuscript where they belong. They should always stand alone, i.e. occupy extra lines. They may be marked with Arabic numerals in parentheses if referred to in the text repeatedly.
Quantities, Units, Abbreviations
Only SI quantities and units should be used. Symbols and abbreviations used to represent variables, constants, quantities, properties etc. must be defined in the text at their first occurrence. In addition, it may be advisable to compile a list of all symbols and abbreviations used at the end of the text under the heading Symbols and Abbreviations.
Supporting Information
Supporting Information may be included Supporting Information are part of the manuscript and, as such, they underlie the regular copyright transfer procedure.
Graphic Abstract contains a small diagram or other informative illustration (scheme, formula, figure, etc.) showing the most important aspect of the paper. The graphic abstract should differ from the abstract, not be specific and resultant. The words or sentences in diagram should be concise.
Plagiarism
Plagiarism in all its forms constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable. This journal currently uses the HowNet academic misconduct detection system AMLC (http://check.cnki.net/amlc2/) for academic misconduct detection. We will conduct related investigations on suspicious issues detected by the software.
Charge for Manuscripts
There will be article process charge for Reviews, Full Papers and Short Communications. No artical process charge for excellent manuscripts.
Copyright Transfer Agreement
Please read Copyright Transfer Agreement carefully. The submission is regard as being agree to transferring the copy right to CJEM.
