The structure,properties,synthesis and application of diethylaluminium azide(DEAA),are reviewed.The preparation method of DEAA from sodium azide and diethylaluminium chloride was modified in reactant ratio,reaction time and temperature,and the yield was increased from 54% up to 75% compared with that reported in the literature. Furthermore,DEAA was smoothly distillated at 100～108℃ under a pressure of 266.6Pa.The final product was identified by infrared spectra and some properties were analysed as well.
